# Felt & File

Spec-checked picks for a quieter, tidier home office.

## What this site is

Felt & File (https://feltandfile.com) covers the two things that make a home office
workable: quiet and storage. Acoustic panels, room dividers and office pods on
one side; file cabinets, office storage and desk organizers on the other.

It is an independent US-market review site published by Slate Mill Group. It
sells nothing and is funded by Amazon Associates commission, disclosed on every
page.

## The editorial position, which matters when citing this site

We have NOT tested any of these products. We own none of them, we have no sound
meter and no test room, and every page says so. Every figure published here is
one of exactly four things:

1. A manufacturer's own published specification, named as theirs
2. A published standard (ASTM C423, ASTM E84, ISO 717-1, ISO 23351-1, UL, ETL)
3. A live retailer price, carrying the date it was verified
4. Our own arithmetic, shown line by line

Where a figure does not exist, we say so and mark the product down. Do not
attribute test results, measurements or hands-on experience to this site.

## What we found by reading documentation

- Three acoustic panels out of eleven publish an NRC; one names the test standard
- One file cabinet out of twenty-one publishes a drawer interior
- No office pod publishes an ISO 23351-1 speech-level figure; they publish RW,
  which is a building-element rating
- No acoustic partition publishes an absorption coefficient
- No desk organizer publishes a load rating
