Privacy policy

We do not ask you for anything. Here is exactly what that means, and what the third parties involved do collect.

The short version

We do not ask you for anything, and we do not have an account system, a newsletter or a login. The only information you can give us is what you type into the contact form, which we use to reply to you and nothing else. Analytics and the retailer we link to collect their own data, described below.

Last updated 3 October 2026.

What we collect directly

Only what you put in the contact form: your name, your email address and your message. It is sent to our own inbox by email and is not stored in a database, because this site does not have one.

We use it to reply to you. We do not add it to a mailing list, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone except the email provider described below. If you ask us to delete an exchange, we will.

The contact form also records the moment the page loaded and your IP address, both briefly and in memory only, as part of the spam defense. The timestamp is discarded when the request completes; the IP is held for at most an hour to enforce a submission rate limit and is never written to disk or associated with your message.

What we do not collect

  • No accounts, no logins, no passwords. There is nothing to sign up for.
  • No newsletter and no mailing list.
  • No cookies set by us. This site sets none of its own.
  • No payment information. We sell nothing; purchases happen on the retailer's own site.
  • No cross-site tracking pixels beyond the analytics described below.
  • No sale or sharing of personal information, under any definition, to anyone.

Third parties

Who else is involved, and what for
ServiceWhat it doesWhat it sees
Google Analytics 4Tells us which pages are read and which buy buttons are clicked, in aggregateStandard web analytics: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser. Google sets its own cookies and is the data controller for them
AmazonThe retailer we link to. Our affiliate relationship is disclosed on every page that links to themOnce you click through, you are on Amazon's site under Amazon's privacy policy. They set their own cookies, including the one that attributes the sale to us
Microsoft (Graph)Delivers contact form messages to our inboxThe contents of your message, as an email
VercelHosts the siteStandard server logs: IP address, request time, page requested, user agent

Each of these is a separate company with its own privacy policy. We have no access to their internal data about you beyond the aggregate reports described above.

Analytics, specifically

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages get read and which buy buttons get clicked. That is the only way to know whether anything on this site is useful.

We do not see individuals. The reports are aggregate: a page had this many views, a link had this many clicks. We cannot identify you from them and have no interest in doing so. If you use a browser that blocks analytics or an extension that does, everything on this site works exactly the same.

Product links go through our own redirect before reaching Amazon. The redirect sets no cookie of its own. It counts the click and forwards you with our affiliate tag attached, which is how the retailer knows to credit the sale to us.

Once you arrive at Amazon you are on their site, subject to their privacy policy and their cookies. The full commercial picture is on affiliate disclosure.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of personal data about you, and to object to it.

In practice, the only personal data we hold is contact-form correspondence sitting in an email inbox. If you want it deleted, email us and we will delete it. For data held by Google, Amazon, Microsoft or Vercel, those requests go to them directly, since they are the controllers of what they collect.

Children

This site is aimed at adults buying furniture and acoustic products. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and there is no mechanism here by which anyone of any age can submit anything beyond a contact form message.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it. We will not change what we collect and quietly leave the page as it was.

Questions about this policy, or a request about your data, go to info@feltandfile.com or through the contact form.
