Three thousand two hundred dollars is the entry price for the box. Here is everything else, with the published figures each number comes from.

The short answer
Budget 3,600 to 5,900 dollars for a single-person pod all in. The Amazon-available tier runs 3,200 to 5,400 for the pod itself, plus 150 to 400 for a chair that almost every listing explicitly excludes, plus whatever your time is worth for two people and one to two hours of assembly. Delivery is usually by truck with a required recipient rather than a courier drop, which is a diary entry rather than a cost. The running cost is small and real: lighting and ventilation for however long you are in it.

Amazon-available prices are from our live price layer at the time of writing and move; the buy buttons carry the current figure. The premium tier is included because those brands dominate the search results and sell through channels this site does not cover, and we would rather say that than pretend the category stops where our links do.
The chair, which is not included
Almost every pod listing in our set states that the chair is not included, and several state it twice. Exactly one includes seating, and that one publishes no dimensions and no acoustic figure, which is not a trade we would make.
Budget 150 to 400 dollars. Two constraints to be aware of:
Footprint. A standard office chair is about 26 in square at the base. In a 37 in interior that leaves roughly 11 in, so a wide-base executive chair does not work.
Getting it in and out. The chair has to come through the pod door, which is narrower than the pod. A chair that fits inside but will not pass the door is a real and annoying discovery.
We do not cover seating on this site - it belongs to other properties and we would be guessing - but the dimensional constraint is worth knowing before you order either item.
Delivery and assembly
Several listings here state truck delivery with a required recipient. That is not a curbside courier drop; someone has to be there, and in many cases the delivery is to the curb rather than into the house.

From each listing's own published specification, 2026-10-03. VESTAEL's per-panel weight is the single most useful logistics figure anyone publishes, because the carry catches more people than the assembly does.
Electrical, which is simpler than people assume
The pods here plug into a standard outlet and carry their own internal wiring for lighting, fans and sockets. None requires a dedicated circuit at the loads published, and the Generic prefab is the only one that publishes its lighting load at all, at 8.6 W.
What you do need is an outlet within reach of where the pod will stand. A trailing extension lead under a 700 lb object you cannot move is a bad arrangement, and relocating an outlet is an electrician's morning rather than a project.
The running cost
Small, and worth a sentence because nobody mentions it at all.
Rough daily running cost
LED lighting: the only published figure in our set is 8.6 W (Generic prefab); GEARONIC publishes a 36 W dimmable fitting
Dual ventilation fans: not published by anyone. A quiet 120 mm extract fan is typically 3 to 6 W each
Call it 20 to 50 W total while occupied
Four hours a day = 0.08 to 0.2 kWh
At a notional 0.16 dollars per kWh = about 1 to 3 cents a day
Our arithmetic. The lighting figures are published; the fan figures are our estimate from typical components because no manufacturer publishes a fan power rating. Electricity prices vary widely and the figure above is illustrative, not a quote.
So the running cost is negligible. The honest caveat is that you have to leave the ventilation on, and the pods that offer a passive vent as well as powered fans - VOLFERDA, VESTAEL, both GEARONICs - are the ones where forgetting is least punishing.
Resale, which is better than you would think
A pod is a 600 to 900 lb assembled object, which makes it hard to sell privately and genuinely valuable in the right market. Office pods have a real secondary market because businesses buy and shed them with office moves.
We have no data on realized prices and will not invent any. The practical point is that a pod retains value in a way that acoustic panels and partitions do not, and if your situation changes it is an asset rather than a disposal problem. Whether that is worth anything to you depends on how settled you are.

What the specs are good for
Names all three shell materials — glass, galvanized steel, polyester lining — and the glass thickness, which almost nothing else here does
An RJ45 network port, which is the one fit-out item that matters for a pod you will take real calls from and which no other pod here lists
Publishes an assembly estimate in minutes and a crew size, so you can plan the day
39.7 in square is the smallest footprint here at about 10.9 sq ft, which is the difference between fitting a spare room and not
A stated 1-year warranty
What they are not
The plus/minus 35 dB figure names no test standard at all, so it cannot be compared with the RW claims elsewhere on this page
Does not publish interior dimensions, so you cannot check a chair or a monitor against it before it arrives
700 lb shipped disassembled, and the listing's lead time is 3 to 4 weeks
At 39.7 in square the interior will be tight for anyone over about 6 ft
Skip this if
Skip this if you need to know the interior will fit a specific chair or an ultrawide monitor. NOVIONIC publishes everything except the one dimension you measure against, and for a 3,200-dollar purchase that absence should stop you until you have asked them.

What the specs are good for
Publishes interior dimensions. 37.28 x 37.71 x 78.74 in is a number you can measure a chair and a monitor against before you spend 4,300 dollars
Publishing both dimension sets also lets you derive the wall thickness, which is the only cross-check available on an acoustic claim in this category
Also publishes the per-panel weight at about 70 lb, so you know whether two people can carry it upstairs
Dual fans plus a passive vent, and a skylight for daylight
USB-C, cable passthrough and a built-in desk included
What they are not
The "blocks up to 95% of noise" line in the listing is a marketing sentence sitting next to a real RW figure, and the two are not the same kind of statement
RW 35 plus/minus 5 is a 10 dB spread, which is a wide tolerance on the headline number
573 lb in panels of about 70 lb each: this is a two-person job and a careful route plan
Truck delivery with a required recipient
Skip this if
Skip this if you cannot get 70 lb panels to where the pod will live. The assembly is manageable; the carry is what catches people, and VESTAEL deserves credit for publishing the number that tells you.
Who it is for. Anyone who wants to check the thing will actually fit, and fit around them, before buying. This is the pod we would start a shortlist with.

What the specs are good for
A named third-party certifier for the acoustic figure. SGS is a real testing house and VOLFERDA naming it is the strongest acoustic evidence in this category
Quad-layer panels and double tempered glass are both specified, not implied
Dual fans AND a passive vent, so airflow does not depend entirely on powered extraction
USB-C alongside USB-A, which dates the design to this decade
Wheels and stabilizer feet together, rather than one or the other
What they are not
RW 33 dB is the lowest published rating of the RW-rated pods here, by about 2 dB
RW is the wrong standard for a furniture enclosure, and VOLFERDA publishes no ISO 23351-1 figure — the same gap as every pod on this page
The listing's dimension fields are internally inconsistent (42.3 in given as height, 90.5 in as width), so the published footprint cannot be trusted
Truck delivery with a required recipient, not a courier drop
Skip this if
Skip this if you want the highest published isolation number. At RW 33 it is nominally 2 dB behind the RW 35 pods here, though both figures are lab ratings for building elements and neither tells you what a call will sound like from outside.
Who it is for. A buyer who weights a verified figure above a higher unverified one. We think that is the right instinct in this category.
If after both of those the household can still hear your calls and you can still hear them, the pod is the right purchase and nothing cheaper does it. The full version of that argument is on office pod vs treating the room.
FAQ
Questions people ask about this
How much does an office pod cost?+
3,200 to 5,400 dollars for the Amazon-available tier, plus 150 to 400 for a chair that is almost never included. Premium direct-sale brands such as Framery and ROOM run 8,000 to 20,000 and are usually quoted rather than priced.
Does an office pod come with a chair?+
Almost never. Nearly every listing states the chair is not included, and the one in our set that does include seating publishes no dimensions or acoustic figures. Budget 150 to 400 dollars, and check the chair's base fits the pod's interior and passes through the door.
How much does it cost to run an office pod?+
Roughly 1 to 3 cents a day at four hours of use. Published lighting loads are 8.6 to 36 W and ventilation fans are typically a few watts each, though no manufacturer publishes a fan rating. The running cost is negligible; leaving the ventilation on is the thing that matters.
Do you need an electrician to install an office pod?+
No. These plug into a standard outlet and carry their own internal wiring, and none requires a dedicated circuit at the loads published. You do need an outlet within reach of the pod's position, because a trailing lead under a 700 lb object is not a workable arrangement.
How is an office pod delivered?+
Usually by truck with a required recipient rather than a courier drop, and frequently to the curb rather than into the house. It arrives as panels of around 70 lb each, so budget two capable people and an afternoon, or help.
Do office pods hold their value?+
They have a genuine secondary market because businesses buy and shed them with office moves, which is unusual for anything else on this site. We have no data on realized prices and will not invent any; the practical point is that a pod is an asset rather than a disposal problem if your situation changes.

ISO 717-1 — Rating of sound insulation in buildings and of building elements, airborne sound insulation
The standard behind the RW figures most office pods publish. RW is a laboratory single-number rating for a BUILDING ELEMENT measured between two reverberant rooms, which a freestanding furniture enclosure is not. We name the mismatch wherever an RW figure appears.
